Sorry state - the table as discovered in the barn.
It might look like something that only the rag-and-bone man would want, but this 'rickety' table found languishing upside down in a barn has just sold for £39,000.
The eight-legged octagonal table was placed in the damp outbuilding about 10 years ago by its owners after one of its legs broke.
But it turned out to be the work of famed furniture designer Edward Godwin in 1875.
