This cutting edge contraption is being touted as the future of speed boats - because instead of gliding through the water it flies above it.<br />

The Quadrofoil uses special hydrofoil technology to lift clean out of the water, reducing drag and allowing it to hit speeds of 25mph.<br />

But because it is powered by an electric motor it costs less than 80p an hour to run - and a new model will set buyers back just £12,000.<br />

The state-of-the-art boat, called the Quadrofoil, has just been launched by a team of marine engineers from Slovenia.
