Adventure Clydesdales on Dartmoor are doing their bit to save the magnificent heavy horses by offering treks across the remote parts of the moor on these huge beasts.<br />

Owner Tim Ancrum  said 'We have to find modern uses for these beautiful animals or their numbers will continue to dwindle away. They're excellent trekking horses, you get a spectacular view, and their as comfortable as an old armchair'<br />
<br />
Now listed as vulnerable by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust their are less than a thousand breeding mares left of a breed that was once commonplace on most of the farms in Scotland before the arrival of the internal combustion engine.
