Gardener Tracy Fraser in the gardens of Minterne House.

Minterne Gardens are experiencing a 'once in a lifetime' flowering of all their Rhododendrons at once - with 'millions' of blooms lighting up the little known valley in the heart of Dorset.

The harsh winter and spring delayed the early flowering varieties that normally bloom in April and they have now come out in unison with the later flowers.

Minterne contains one of Britains most diverse and historic collections of rare rhododendrons and azalea's brought back by the great Victorian plant hunters in the late 19th and early 20th century and the unique collection is to be featured on this weeks Gardeners World.
