A voluminous nightie worn by Queen Victoria in her later years has been unearthed in a house clearance.
The pale cream nightdress, which measures a whopping 51 inches across the girth and is embroidered with the Queen's insignia, is expected to fetch £2,000 at auction.
It belongs to retired antiques shop owner Marilyn Rose who has amassed an enormous collection of treasures at her home on the Isle of Wight, Hants.
The nightdress and a pair of bloomers that belonged to Victoria's daughter Princess Beatrice have been put up for auction with Oxfordshire-based Hansons Auctioneers.
