Freda Dudley Ward.
A gushing love letter a besotted Edward VIII sent to his longstanding mistress has emerged for sale.
The then Prince of Wales penned the heartfelt four page letter to married socialite Freda Dudley Ward as he left for a long Royal tour to Canada in 1919.
In the sickly sweet letter Edward apologised to his mistress for being a 'rotten brute' and rushing over the see her one last time before het set sail across the Atlantic.
The future King told his 'darling precious sweetheart' the tour would only be an existence for him and he would be thinking of her 'every second until we meet again'.
