A spinster's vast collection of kitchenalia has sold for a staggering £212,000 following a bidding war.

The late Annie Merchant's incredible timewarp home filled with 'olde worlde' items dating back to Victorian times and earlier was the antithesis of today's modern fitted kitchens.

The collector-dealer was known as the 'Queen of Kitchenalia', and loaned her pots, pans, plates, jugs and utensils as props for TV shows that included Victoria Wood's soap opera parody, Acorn Antiques.
