Little & large - While most children her age are glued to computer screens or playing on mobile phones, horse-mad Maia Fletcher prefers a more ancient form of entertainment.<br />
<br />
The eight-year-old spends any time she can after school and on weekends helping her grandfather John Fletcher with his five giant Shire horses.<br />
<br />
The pint-sized groomsman is not intimidated by the daunting size of the 18 hands high, one tonne beasts and first rode one when she just three years old.<br />
<br />
Despite having her own "normal" sized pony at home, Maia is far more interested in the mammoth Shires.<br />
<br />
The horse-loving youngster, who is just 4ft 6in tall, has been helping her grandfather out ever since - although she has to stand on a step-ladder to help wash and groom them and needs a leg up if she wants to go for a ride.
