A notorious 'cartel' of elderly women who run a group of prized beach huts with an iron fist have again evicted a tenant on an apparent whim.

Maureen Smethurst was left 'close to tears' after receiving a blunt letter telling her to vacate her chalet after three years.

But when she questioned the decision, she was met by a menacing wall of silence.
