The world's first gadget that makes espresso in the microwave has been launched to put an end to awful coffee in the workplace.

Coffee connoisseur Christoph Meyl from Munich, Germany, came up with the idea in frustration at the lack of coffee-making facilities at his office.

The clever contraption, called Piamo, came to life over a cup of coffee - and promises to deliver a cup of silky espresso in just 30 seconds.
