A portion of wall from the Ed Sullivan show signed by the Beatles before their first live performance in the United States is tipped to sell for almost £1 million.
The 16ins by 48ins strip taken from the plastic backdrop of the classic talk show features amusing doodles of the Fab Four beside their signatures.
They drew on the wall just before performing to an audience of 73 million people live on air for the first time in America on February 9 1964.
The iconic performance triggered a tidal wave of 'Beatlemania' across the country.
