Making a splash ...

A British company is selling a range of luxury, environmentally-friendly floating homes which are set to turn heads on our waterways.

Waterlodge Five is 39ft long, 16ft wide and has three bedrooms, a galley kitchen, a bathroom and a living area. There is a roof terrace which is ideal for entertaining, as well as a deck area.

The boat has thermal insulation and double glazed windows, with the option of adding solar panels to make it electricity self-sufficient.

The pleasure craft was hand built in Poland and is on the market with Whyboats, of Southampton, Hants, for just over £117,000, who say it is ideal for city workers who want to disappear to the country at the weekend, retired couples who want to explore and even as an eye-catching student pad.
