A British fisherman has told of how he caught a monster 1,500lbs shark - the biggest ever in Europe.<br />

Ben Bond, 26, a builder from Yeovil, spent 90 minutes struggling to reel in the deadly 25ft long sixgill shark after it took his bait on a fishing trip to Ireland.<br />

It was impossible to heave the specimen on board but experienced boat skipper Luke Aston used the recognised formula and measuring its length and girth to calculate its weight.<br />

Mr Aston said the shark was at least 1,500lbs - 107sts - which makes it the biggest ever caught in not only the British Isles but also in Europe.
