One careless owner...

The remnants of five guitars smashed up on stage by legendary rocker Pete Townshend have been unearthed years later.

The broken parts of four Les Gibson instruments and a whole Rickenbacker guitar were salvaged at the end of The Who concerts by the band's crew.

The smashed-up guitars have now been valued at a total of £23,000 and will be sold by auctioneers Bonhams on December 10.
