This is the amazing moment a playful pod of dolphins surprised a lifeboat crew off the south coast of England.

Several fins pop out the water before one of the aquatic creatures swims right next to the lifeboat.

The charming footage was captured by Poole Lifeboat who had just attended a call out in Poole Bay, Dorset.

RNLI volunteers said the dolphins stayed for several minutes and seemed captivated by their bright orange vessel.
