The contents of a millionaire financier's stately home have sold for over £750,000.<br />

Dewlish House in Dorset, one of the most beautiful stately homes in Britain, sold recently for only the second time in its 300-year history and its treasures have gone under the hammer.<br />
<br />
The top selling lot was a spectacular Queen Anne gilt mirror similar to one in the V&A Museum which sold for £65,000 including fees.<br />
<br />
A George II giltwood console table, designed in the manner of William Kent, also went for double its estimate at £40,000 hammer, £52,000 including fees.<br />
<br />
A pair of George III Serpentine chest of drawers sold for £39,000 and a rare oak bed dating from the reign of King Henry VIII sold for £26,000.
