The amazing exploits of a Bomber Command hero who carried out over 100 raids can be revealed after his medals and logbooks emerged for sale for £4,000.

Squadron Leader Anthony Ennis took part in the first raid on Berlin in August 1940 and the first 1,000 Bomber Raid on Cologne in May 1942.

He miraculously crawled home at 150ft in his Halifax bomber after suffering severe flak damage which wiped out an engine.
