Famous explorers Snowdonia home for sale...
The former home of 'Boys Own' hero Maj Bill Tilman, with spectacular views across an estuary to Snowdonia, has come on the market for £1.35 million.
The war hero, mountaineer, yachtsman and novelist lived in the idyllic home for many years untill his mysterious disapearance in the South Atlantic in 1977.
In the 1930s Major Harold William Tilman conducted inspection missions at Mount Everest, reaching 27,000ft without oxygen.
His work helped gather information for Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay's record-breaking ascent in 1953.
Maj Tilman, who served at The Somme in the First World War and fought in World War Two aged in his 40s, wrote about his adventures from the library of his Snowdonia home.
