Remarkable previously unseen photos charting the wartime exploits of a member of 'The Few' has been unearthed after 80 years.

Squadron Leader Jocelyn Millard, of No 1 Squadron, flew Hurricanes in the Battle of Britain, shooting down a Me.109 in one dramatic duel.

There are numerous images of the dashing figure in uniform with his flying mates.

They can be seen both on duty and letting their hair down away from the heat of battle, as they pose on motorbikes and unwind in their dormitories.

The comprehensive photo album, containing 250 images, has emerged for sale alongside six of his flying pennants with C & T Auctions, of Ashford, Kent.
