Drawings from Lady Loudly the Goose

Original artwork from acclaimed children's book illustrator Barbara Firth has emerged for sale for £12,000.

The sale, featuring almost 200 lots, is being held by Ewbank's Auctions, of Woking, Surrey.

It features her drawings for Sarah Hayes' The Grumpalump (1991) and the Great Escapes series.

Animals she brought to life included Jack the Dog, Tumult the Rabbit, Romeo and Juliet The Lovebirds and Little Bear.

Many of the drawings are annotated with studio instructions and none have been signed.
