Chris (58) from Ivybridge, Devon, lost his right hand when he fell off a jet-ski in 2009, but he has now been fitted with the £47,000 limb by specialists Dorset Orthopaedic. Electrodes in the arm are able to sense muscle movements, and these signals are used to control electronic motors that move the fingers. Chris can now hold and grip a variety of different-sized objects, allowing him to carry out complex wiring work for his job as a service engineer.
