A woman who lost her leg in a life-changing car crash is taking the surfing world by storm - placing fifth in the World Para Surfing Championship less than 12 weeks after her first surf lesson.

Zoe Smith had not really surfed before her accident but decided to give it a go last year after seeing a video of one of her now team-mates surfing on Instagram.

She had her first lesson in September and Zoe competed in her first competition in December - the World Championships in Pismo Beach, California, with 24 different countries competing.
