A 91 year-old master modeller proudly displays a stunning 3ft long aircraft carrier he built out of 100 matchboxes donated by kind strangers.
Philip Warren feared his 75 year pastime of building model warships was set to end when he ran out of the traditional wooden boxes he used to make the hull and decks.
But his plea for more sparked a remarkable response as he was sent more than 300 of the lightweight matchboxes made from aspen wood.
With these he made an intricate matchstick model of the 1,000ft long Gerald Ford US aircraft vessel, which is on show at Nothe Fort in Weymouth, Dorset.
