Shakespeare experts are celebrating the incredible discovery of the boards the famous Bard trod as he performed in his own play in the 16th century.
The 600-year-old oak floorboards are believed to be the only surviving stage in the world from William Shakespeare's time.
They have been uncovered under several layers of more modern flooring at England's oldest and largest medieval guildhall, which is currently undergoing a major refurbishment.
