A chilling unseen album recording the very first shots of WW2 has been rediscovered - detailing the German attack on the Polish garrison of Westerplatte near modern day Gdansk.<br />
<br />
The battleship Schleswig-Holstein fired the first broaside at dawn on the 1st September 1939, beginning the German invasion of Poland, that two days later brought Britain into the war.<br />
<br />
The incredible pictures were taken by a young sailor on board the battleship who went on to serve in the feared Scharnhorst later in the war.
