Britain's first Christmas-themed cottage that is open all year round is preparing for customers over the sizzling August bank holiday weekend.<br />

Christmas Cottage in Cheddar Gorge, Somerset, has Christmas trees, tinsel, fairy lights and garlands up in every room from January through to December.<br />

The festive retreat is going to be the perfect retreat from the 30C heatwave predicted to hit the country. <br />

Inside the cottage are three themed bedrooms situated above the Old Rowlands Christmas shop in the tourist area of Cheddar Gorge.<br />

It has views of the River Yeo, a pond and waterfall, climbing attraction Jacob's Ladder and the Mendip Hills.
