Pictrued: Adam will be doing a lot of his training at Oldland Mill in Keymer, West Sussex, a beautifully-restored post windmill not far from his home in Brighton.
An 18-year-old windmill enthusiast is bringing fresh hope to the endangered craft of millwrighting.
Research by charity Heritage Crafts has found millwrighting is critically endangered, meaning it is likely to go extinct within this generation.
The work is currently carried out by a largely ageing workforce and the skills are in danger of being lost forever unless more young people get involved.
So the charity has awarded trainee Adam Winsor a £2,000 grant so he can spend six months learning how to restore and maintain windmills.
There are ten or less full-time professional millwrights left in the UK, with many of those approaching retirement age, and the skills are not being passed on.
