An amateur gardener has managed to grow an incredible swan shaped cucumber.

Mike Pullen decided in spring to throw caution to the wind and grow as much food as possible in his vegetable patch.

Despite the risk of his food catching diseases by growing close to the ground he has produced a bumper crop of cucumbers, courgettes, carrots and potatoes.

The 32-year-old from Hook, North Hampshire, has grown a series of strangely shaped cucumbers including one that is swan shaped.

Mr Pullen had to cut the growing season short during spring as he had just moved to the area and was expecting his second child to be born.
