The family of a lost sailor who served on HMS Narwhal during World War II has spoken of their relief after his icy tomb was discovered after 77 years.

George Clandon, from Burscough, Lancs, never knew his uncle, George Lawson, who was serving as an engineer on the doomed submarine when it was sunk by the Luftwaffe in July 1940.

The sub was attacked by German forces while on it's way lay mines in Norway after Nazi's managed to crack some of the British naval codes and were fully aware of the Narwhal's route.
A team searching for a lost Polish submarine accidently came across the wreck of the Narwall 140 miles of the east coast of Scotland earlier on this year.
