A female relative of Robertson took the plate on the Antiques Roadshow in the 1990's.
A rare 18th century Chinese plate which was languishing at the back of a kitchen cupboard has sold at auction for a whopping £275,000.
The antique, which carries the reign mark for Emperor Yongzheng (1723-1735), had been tucked away in a box at a home in South Derbyshire since its owners inherited it from their grandmother two years ago.
Their grandmother hung the plate on her wall with a metal plate mount around it which has now been removed.
The plate had attracted major interest in China with several potential Chinese buyers visiting the auction house to take a closer look before the sale.
