Oyster gatherer Christopher Ranger pictured with a catch on The Fal estuary
The Lone Ranger - A concerned oyster fisherman is crowdfunding to set up his very own 'micro-hatchery' in a bid to restore the UK's dwindling stocks of the shellfish.
Chris Ranger, 44, currently runs Britain's last surviving oyster fishery on the River Fal in Mylor Churchtown, Cornwall.
The site has been a hotbed for oyster activity for thousands of years but they are now on the brink of vanishing after years of overfishing.
